The July Research Center is an independent, non-governmental research institution established with the goal of authentically preserving and analyzing the history of mass uprisings and movements in Bangladesh. This organization Established in 2025. We believe that the history of people’s movements is not merely a sequence of political changes, but rather an expression of deeply rooted discontent, resistance, and the yearning for liberation within society.
The mass uprising that took place specifically in July 2024 is not just a political event; it has left a permanent mark on Bangladesh’s social, cultural, and economic realities. Our primary responsibility is to document this experience, conduct research on it, and deliver it as an accurate record to future generations.
Our scope of work is extensive. We collect information from the field, conduct interviews with direct participants in movements, and preserve news reports, photographs, and audio-visual documents. Concurrently, we analyze these materials and publish research from sociological, political economy, historical, and cultural perspectives.
The July Research Center regularly produces research reports, articles, books, and documentaries that are accessible not only to the academic community but also to the general public. We aim to foster an inclusive national dialogue on democracy, justice, and human rights, alongside academic discussions on the experiences of mass movements.
The July Research Center believes that ignoring history jeopardizes a nation’s future. Therefore, our objective is to contribute to building a just, democratic, and humane society by learning from the past. We adhere to a neutral, fact-based, and research-driven approach to ensure that truth endures across generations without distortion.
Our journey began centered on the July mass uprising, but our goal is much broader: to enrich the nation’s knowledge base by preserving and researching the history of all mass movements, social resistance, and civic awakenings in Bangladesh.
